FullSizeRender (10)Welcome to the first ever GIVEAWAY POST on Joy Woven Deep! I am so excited to be raffling off a copy of the SOLD OUT Sacred Ordinary Days Liturgical Day Planner.

This thoughtful, beautiful planner is the catalyst that led to my deep interest in the Christian year, and it has served as a gracious guide on this new journey (which I am documenting in the Reframe series). The planner is a perfect combination of practical calendar pages (monthly, weekly and daily), and spiritual refreshment and development through prompted reflection, Daily Office and Lectionary passages, information about the Seasons and Holy Days, and so much more. I can’t recommend it highly enough, and I’m so thankful to my friend Jenn Giles Kemper (creator of the planner) for embracing this giveaway idea!

The giveaway will end Sunday night and I will announce the winner Monday morning, along with some more resources and opportunities from Sacred Ordinary Days. Best wishes, and thank you for participating!

    1. I’m drawn to the rhythm and beauty of the liturgy & have been layering it into my days. What a great tool!

  1. I’m so intrigued by this planner! I’m a liturgical nerd and love following the church calendar.

  2. As a pastor, I love to teach others about the Christian calendar and liturgy because they have shaped me so much on my spiritual journey. Unfortunately, sometimes I need to pay careful attention to my own spiritual growth and health because I can get so focused on leading and journeying with others, which is where it seems like this planner would be incredibly helpful. What intrigues me the most is that it helps shape us and helps us orient our whole lives around Christ.

  3. When I saw this planner I was initially intrigued but I hesitated in buying it, and ever since, I keep thinking about how I should have jumped at the opportunity before it sold out! I don’t know a lot about the liturgical calendar but I’m learning! Thank you for the giveaway!

  4. Interested in seeing it “live” — to see how it would work with who I am and who I am continuing to be. . .

  5. I’ve been looking for a resource like this for such a long time and then managed to miss the kickstarter campaign. I organize everything into the Church Year: books, iTunes playlists, recipes, everything. Having a Sacred Ordinary Days planner would make my day.

  6. I gave my copy to a dear friend who is a pastor and current stay-at-home mom. I wish I had ordered two copies, and would really love to get another one for me own. I love the flow of the liturgical year and the discipline and structure that the daily planner provides. Love the whole idea of this!

  7. I am a newbie to the church calendar and am looking forward to learning more! This planner looks amazing!

  8. I stumbled onto Sacred Ordinary Days after the bound and printed versions were already sold out. I ordered the e-copy, but I would love a bound version. I <3 the liturgical calendar and find it to be paradoxically grounding and uplifting. Thank you for the giveaway.
As a sidenote, I also stumbled upon your Reframe series through pinterest yesterday. I am thrilled to follow along. Thank you!

  9. I have been immersed in the liturgical calendar for most of my life, but only recently began to understand how it informs the way I live. I am starting over in a new place in a new life, (my husband was transferred to Texas then suffered from a botched back surgery that is forcing him to medically retire all in the space of six months immediately following my graduation from seminary) and I was unable to order during the kickstarter… this resource looks like the friend I need to help support me in navigating the new waters I find myself in

  10. I was so bummed that I missed the chance to buy one of these. I’d be so thrilled to win one. 🙂 I love the way the church calendar can order our unordered lives these days.

  11. Oh man, I’d love to get this. I missed out on buying the planner, and having one printed just didn’t have the same feel. Here’s to hoping.

  12. Thank you for your thoughtful blog. From delving into “Christian-ese” and questioning and learning to sharing your personal journey as a mom to your love of books… all of it is appreciated!

  13. I missed out on the Sacred Ordinary Days Planner Kickstart but my awesome boss did not. He purchased one for each of our staff. Now I would love to give one to my husband so we are on the same page (literally) each day.
I absolutely love this planner. It is an amazing tool.

  14. I stumbled on the planner late, but was able to get one for myself. I would love to gift a friend. The Liturgical Calendar helps me to organize my life around my relationship with God.

  15. I’ve definitely been intrigued by this since you started talking about it last year. I’ve really tried to be more intentional in spending time with Jesus and am sort of struggling with finding something to follow to help me with this – perhaps this is what I need! Thanks for doing this 🙂

  16. One of my fantastic friends has been sharing with me her journey through this planner and I would love to have the ability to join her!

  17. I’ve been following the creation and success of this planner, but did not end up purchasing this go-round…tight finances and all that. I would LOVEEE to win one! What a beautiful tool for living and acknowledging a purposeful, sacred life.

  18. I did not grow up with liturgy or much understanding of the liturgical calendar, so I think it is interesting to learn about and incorporate it into my life

  19. I’d love up get my hands on one of these planners. As I have been reflecting upon last year and looking forward to 2016, I found myself in the need to prioritize and pray throughout the day. I feel that this planner will help me in those two areas to grow in my productivity for the glory of God!

  20. Staying home with 3 kids 4 and under has left me feeling spiritually dry lately. Have been looking for ways to incorporate Scripture and spiritual rhythms into my day – and was so disappointed that this planned was sold out by the time I heard of it! Thanks for hosting this giveaway!

  21. Thank you for this wonderful way to aid in keeping sacred rhythms for the sake of others. I would enjoy the gift of this planner and in a transition place for it to be a double blessing! I can relate to having a special needs child and found the path more transformational than ever realized in my relationship with God. Blessings to you and yours!

  22. I love the idea of framing your year with the Church’s year, rather than just the calendar. It’s subtle, but revolutionary.

  23. Through the sacred ordinary my faith is deepening and I look forward to additional strength and guidance that comes from a continual focus on scripture.

  24. Oh wait a treat this would be! My word for the year is abide (John 15:4), and I’m working to follow more of the church/liturgical calendar and am praying the hours. This would helpe order me days around Christ even more. Thanks for the opportunity to win!

  25. The time and thought that went into this planner makes it so amazing. Kicking myself for not buying it during the Kickstarter campaign last year.

  26. I’ve been working towards an alternative way of viewing time (liturgical calendar as opposed to marking time by the American holiday calendar). It’s been an adjustment that I’m still working towards! 🙂

  27. I’m relatively new to the liturgical Church. My husband was recently ordained a Priest though – so I am diving in with both feet! Recently I was sitting beside the Bishop during a service and confidently proclaimed “I believe in Jesus Christ… Who suffered under Pontious PIRATE!”.

  28. I would be way beyond blessed by a tool like this. Hope God uses it for good in whoever’s hands it ends up in!

  29. I love this planner! I just started using it this year, and I’ve grown so much just in the past few days. If I win, I will gift it to a friend. Thanks for the give away!

  30. I’ve really been enjoying your blog Abby 🙂 I don’t know a thing about the liturgical calendar (ok, other than when Advent is). This sounds like a great giveaway as I see I am not alone!

  31. Just got my planner in the mail and I would love to be able to give one to my mom! I’m so excited to learn about the liturgical year, as this is all new to me!

  32. As an evangelical, my knowledge of the liturgical calendar has been limited to my studies (history major). I’ve recently become intrigued by it, the consistent rhythms that it lends to the year and the potential for it to enhance spiritual practices. Another blogger I love linked to the Sacred Ordinary Days planner, but by the time I found it the Kickstarter campaign was closed. I would love to get a copy because I hope it would impact me as greatly as it has you. Thanks.

  33. I’ve been intrigued by the liturgical calendar and would love to learn more. This planner is a great resource to really utilize and dig into the traditions of this calendar!

  34. This year I am trying to really develop the habit of being intentional. Furthermore, being intentional about inviting and surrendering to His presence in my daily life. The way we view/break up our calendar/year is so influential over the way we plan and the lens we view life events through. The thing that seems really great about this planner and learning about the liturgical calendar is that is aids the natural progression of that intentional partnership with Christ – in the daily and in the planning.

  35. I’ve loved finding your blog after you found me on Facebook. This has been so refreshing to read!

  36. I’ve been learning a little about the liturgical calendar, but not much beyond Advent and Lent at this point. I do feel the need in my soul for slow, sacred days that are tiny celebrations of the holiness of God and the miracle of everyday. I’m looking forward to learning more and reading your blog. The planner will be a delightful gift for whomever wins!

  37. I found your blog after someone shared the giveaway. I have already read several of your post. I look forward to more.

  38. What a generous giveaway! I’m so thankful to find other “church nerds” with whom I can share my love of the church year/ liturgy of hours; I’ve enjoyed perusing your blog and reading your thoughts! Here’s to a lovely 2016!

  39. I didn’t grow up with the liturgical calendar being taught, so it’s all new and sweet and deeply meaningful to me now. I don’t know it all yet, but Advent is my fave now because it encapsulates the longing I often feel in my faith.

  40. I would love to be able to get ahold of one of these planners, and winning one would be fantastic. I need a planner that incorporates a daily plan with my schedule.

  41. I saw this planner months ago and loved the idea of it but forgot to look into it again! I love the way our daily rhythm gives us anchors in our days and I feel like the litergical calendar gives us meaningful anchors in the year!

  42. I love that the liturgical calendar is a cyclical journey always bringing us back to resurrection.
